Bangalore: “Mangalore is the “Boston of India, Boston being the hub of education,” said M. Shantharam Shetty, Vice-Chancellor of Nitte University. Inaugurating Vikas Pre-University College here on Monday, he said that Mangalore, with a population of just 6 lakh, had made a mark in the field of education.
He said ethical values should be taught to students and corruption was wrong.
“It should be the endeavour of educational institutes to teach students that pollution should be curbed.
They should also be taught to rise above greed and selfishness,” he added. J. Krishna Palemar, MLA, presided over the function. — Staff Correspondent
